Prism Systems is proud to announce Nick Thomas has accepted a position as Systems Engineer. Nick will join the Prism embedded development team.

Nick began his career as a Hardware Engineer designing consumer electronics for Internet of Things (IOT) solutions after earning his degree in Computer Engineering from the University of South Alabama in 2013. His research conducted at The University of South Alabama led him to publish an academic paper at the 2013 IEEE International Conference on Consumer Electronics. Here at Prism, Nick will be writing software for embedded products.

“I’ve always been interested in things, and how they work. Growing up with computers and video games, electronics became a serious interest of mine. Computer engineering was a natural fit, as it combined both hardware and software,” Nick said.

Nick is a lifelong resident of Mobile and resides here with his wife, Megan. Nick likes to stay active whether it be going to the gym, playing golf, or just being outdoors. He sings and plays the guitar. He also has a passion for training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

“My favorite thing about Prism is how challenging and varied the work can be. Since I have started working at Prism, I don’t think I have stopped learning. Everyone is extremely knowledgeable and helpful.”
