Controls Engineer/Industrial Wireless Network Engineer
Prism Systems, Inc. seeks Controls Engineer/Industrial Wireless Network Engineer in Orlando, FL, to provide team support to create wireless network designs and systems to support large-scale industrial and mechanical automation projects. Daily duties include:
Conduct site surveys, create network design and plans, oversee the installation and configuration of wireless network components, Wi-Fi APs, and Wi-Fi bridges, High-Availability wireless hardware, network switches and routers.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to industrial wireless networks, including signal interference, network coverage, and bandwidth constraints.
Analyze clients’ business and operational needs and develop appropriate network designs, plans, and budgets.
Stay current with industry developments and trends related to existing and emerging OT and wireless technologies.
Establish budgetary pricing for wireless network proposals.
Create concise operations and maintenance documentation for supported equipment.
Support, troubleshoot, and install wireless and related technologies.
Designs and develops software systems, sub-systems, cloud-based applications (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS) and SQL and NoSQL databases.
Designs and implements applications to communicate with PLC-based control systems.
Designs and develops embedded applications using microcontrollers (Raspberry Pi, Arduino, ARM-based microcontrollers, FPGAs, etc).
Designs and develops controls software for animatronics for theme-parks. This includes writing operating logic for robots with 20+ axes/motors each and PID tuning of associated drives and servos.
Designs and develops safety critical controls systems used in theme-parks.
Configures communication I/O and troubleshoots communication issues.
Requirements:
Must have Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science field. Must be able to demonstrate the following capabilities:
Algorithm development and implementation;
Programming languages: Python, Java, MicroSoft VS IDEs, C, C++, and Verilog;
Modeling tools/software: LabView, MatLab, Xilinx Vitis;
Microcontrollers;
Embedded Systems Design;
Network and Cybersecurity software and tools.
Capability may be demonstrated through proof of at least six months of full-time or part-time employment or dedicated academic study/research, through training certificates, or other suitable evidence.
Occasional domestic travel is required, no more than quarterly to visit client sites to perform site surveys or test/troubleshoot solutions.
